My mum, dying of cancer, wrote a letter to my estranged sister. She made me promise to deliver it. I read it. It was full of love and apologies that I felt my sister didn't deserve. Out of spite, I burned it. My sister never got closure. My mum's last act of love went up in smoke in my fireplace.
