I MISJUDGED HIS NEW SIGHT
Confession / Offering / Declaration
The Day I Judged Very Wrong
I judged him the moment I saw him on the train. Grown man pressed to the window, pointing at trees and shouting with excitement like a child. I caught the woman beside me rolling her eyes. I did the same. When he shouted again about the clouds 'running with us,' I leaned forward and said quietly to the older man with him, 'You should really take him to a doctor.' The man didn't look offended. He smiled. 'We just came from the hospital,' he said. 'My son was blind until this morning.' I didn't apologise properly. I just nodded and looked away because my throat closed up. I think about that moment more than I should. About how sure I was. And how wrong.
The Council will now decide the value of this record. Your vote and judgment now becomes influence — and currency.
AFTERMATH STATEMENT
I wanted to feel clever and superior instead of curious.
