Someone's Food in Fridge

There was a labelled container in the fridge and I knew it wasn't mine. I told myself they'd forgotten it or wouldn't miss it. I ate it anyway, quickly, like speed made it less wrong. Later, when they asked if anyone had seen their lunch, I shook my head and watched them try to laugh it off. I felt small and mean in a way I didn't want to admit.
