A good idea was suggested in passing and I repeated it later as if I'd thought of it. Nobody challenged me. The person who originally said it looked like they were deciding whether to bother correcting it. They didn't. I felt a flush of pride and then a slow shame that lasted longer. I never fixed it because the moment passed and I liked the benefit.
