The cashier handed me more change than I she should . I noticed immediately and hesitated for a second that felt longer than it was. Then I closed my hand and walked away. It wasn't much, but it stayed with me. Every time I pass that shop, I remember the look on her face, neutral and trusting, and how easily I slipped past it without a word.
