Kept Borrowing, Never Paid

When in the states. I borrowed small amounts and always had a reason I couldn't pay it back yet. Next payday, bank glitch, family emergency. They asked gently, then not so gently, and I acted wounded, like money talk was crass. Watching them hesitate before messaging me became familiar. In the end they stopped asking and stopped inviting me places. I told myself they were petty. I lost all my friends there and came home.
