My dad has advanced Parkinson's. Feeding him is slow. One day, frustrated, I shoved the spoon too hard against his mouth. He cried. I yelled at him to "just swallow." I saw the fear in his eyes—fear of me, his son. The woman in the next bed saw everything. She never said a word.
