I put my hand where it didn’t belong while we were standing close. I knew it wasn’t accidental. When they confronted me later, I said they’d misunderstood and made it awkward for everyone. I told others they were overreacting. The complaint never went anywhere. I stayed. They didn’t. I let the doubt do the work for me.
