How Silence Was Maintained

I used threats to control my partner’s behaviour. The harm affected her independence and mental health. I warned that reporting would result in financial loss and social damage. I concealed the abuse by alternating intimidation with calm periods. Documents and accounts were kept in my name. I benefited by keeping the household stable and unchallenged. She avoided outside contact and withdrew from friends. The control ended only when she left suddenly. No complaint followed and the pattern remains unrecorded beyond what we experienced privately.
