I worked in child protection for eight years. Access to addresses, schedules, medical notes ' everything. At first it was small: passing along which flats were empty for a 'mate in debt.' Then a man offered real money for information about a teenage girl in care. I told myself I was just giving names, not causing harm. I never saw what followed. I stopped asking.
